Expanding youth access to SRHR information and services

Young people need safe, inclusive and non-judgmental spaces to access information about their health and rights. At Elimika Wikiendi, we work to close existing information gap by leveraging digital technology to connect youth and at-risk populations with accurate Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) support services.

Our approach focuses on making SRHR and GBV information accessible, relatable and youth-friendly both online and within communities. We engage youth in schools, higher learning institutions and out-of-school settings, ensuring no one is left behind. Through our digital community and outreach-based initiatives, we create opportunities for youth to learn, engage and make informed life choices.

We raise awareness on GBV prevention and response, while also strengthening linkages to available services by working closely with public health actors and other key partners. At the same time, we invest in young leaders by training peer educators and youth champions who play a key role in sharing information and supporting their peers.

Through digital campaigns and weekly dialogues on #ElimikaWikiendi platform, we continue to bridge the gap between information and access, supporting a generation of youth who are informed, connected and empowered to make decisions about their health and overall wellbeing.

Elimika Wikiendi established to build a more informed generation of youth in Tanzania and strengthen youth participation in the development agendas.
